How container delivery works
We quote the container and the trucking to your address, then arrange delivery from a depot market through our network of carriers and owner operators. Your site needs firm, level ground with room for the truck and trailer.
What your site needs
- Firm, level ground
- Room for the truck and trailer to maneuver
- Overhead clearance, clear of wires and branches
- Any permits your property needs. Check local permit, zoning or HOA rules before you order
Containers travel on tilt-deck trailers. The driver can refuse to unload where conditions are unsafe.
What affects the price
Delivery is quoted to your exact address, and site access also matters. The closer you are to a market, the lower the trucking cost. On very long hauls, trucking can cost as much as the container, so ask for a delivered price before you decide. Enter your ZIP on our home page to find your closest market.
On delivery day
- You or your representative should be there at delivery.
- If the container is not the size or grade you bought, tell the driver before it is unloaded.
- Failed deliveries can bring redelivery, wait-time or return charges.
Before you order
Depots are not open to the public, so visits and choosing an individual container are not available. The full delivery terms are in our Terms of Sale. See also container grades and questions and answers.
