What do shipping container grades mean?

Grade describes condition. We sell four: New (one-trip) has minimal wear, IICL meets the container lessors' inspection standard, cargo worthy is structurally sound for shipping, and as-is is the lowest price, sold in current condition.

Grades in short

  • New (One-Trip): Used for one voyage. The cleanest option, with minimal wear.
  • IICL: Used, and meets the IICL container lessors' standard, which is stricter than cargo worthy.
  • Cargo Worthy (CW): Used, structurally sound for shipping. Expect dents and surface rust.
  • As-Is: Lowest price, sold in current condition. Condition varies and is not guaranteed wind and water tight.
